Festive Make-Up

Today I thought I’d try something new, I wanted to share with you a Christmas make up look that will be perfect for the festive season. I have asked my sister Jodie, who is a professional make up artist, to create a simple but glamorous step by step look that is easy to do and will be perfect for any party this Christmas.

She has used her own products as well as some of my own and I have listed below in the guide where you can get them but make up is a preference and you can achieve the same look using other brands and colours.

I hope you enjoy trying it out and let me know if you would like to see more of these!

How to achieve this look:

1- Apply a light coat of foundation (Lancome Teint Miracle) to entire face with a foundation brush.

2 – Using the concealer (Bobbi Brown), cover under eyes and any blemishes and using a blending brush fix with translucent powder (Mac) for a flawless finish.

3- To warm the face, bronze (Make up forever) under cheek bones, forehead, nose and jawline and add a touch of blusher (Nars) to apples of cheeks.

4 – Highlight the top of cheek bones (Smashbox) for that extra sparkle.

5 – Apply the colour “Foxy” from the Urban Decay Naked Basics palatte to all over eye lid, take Mac “Honey Lust” and apply shadow on eyelid just under eye bone and under bottom lash line. Using a darker shade (Chanel Eclosion plum) push into socket line, around the outer edge and upper lash line. Take a blending brush and blend the colours together to soften the lines. Going back to the Naked Basics Palette, use the darkest shade “Crave”  and create a small inward “C” shape in the outer corner of each eye to create more depth.

6 – Choose a gel eyeliner (Bobbi Brown) for a dramatic look and apply into the upper and lower lash line with a thicker line to the top using an angled brush and finish with a small flick to the ends. Use a khol eyeliner (Mac smoulder) to inside rim of eye. Take your blending brush and blend everything together to soften the whole look.

7 – Apply a generous coating of mascara (Diorshow) to upper and lower lashes, or you can use false lashes (Mac) for a more glamorous effect.

8 – With a lip pencil (Mac Burgundy), line outer edges of lip and blend inwards and cover with a clear gloss (Bobbi Brown).

Remember to paint your nails, reds and plums are always popular for this season, I am wearing Marc Jacobs “Jezebel” but I also love Essie “bordeaux” and YSL “Rouge Pop Art”.
